This piece began as an exploration of exhaustion, heartbreak, and the constant pressure to create. The pumping mechanism reflects the emotional and physical rhythms we carry. A reminder of fragility, resilience, and the body’s unrelenting drive to keep going.

The Pumping Heart Bag™ is a sculptural tech piece that blurs the line between body and object. Designed and engineered by wearable-tech artist Brittany Anne Cohen, each bag is 3D-sculpted and hand-finished. No two will ever be alike — imperfections in the print, the way the liquid flows, even the rhythm of the pump create a singular experience every time you power it on.
Hold it close and you’ll hear the heartbeat. Feel the vibrations. Watch liquid pulse through transparent tubing in patterns that can never be replicated. It’s art you wear — a piece that feels uncannily alive.
Over two years of obsessive experimentation went into bringing this vision to life — finding the perfect pump, the right liquid, the correct tubing, and a system that creates the illusion of blood flowing in real time.

One of a Kind: Every bag is unique. No two will ever produce the exact same liquid flow effect.
Handcrafted + 3D Printed: Each bag is 3D printed and finished by hand. Small surface variations or blemishes are natural to the process and part of its individuality.
Fluid Flow Behavior: As the bag runs, the liquids may naturally blend and appear less defined — this is normal and part of the living nature of the piece. When this happens, the liquids can always be returned to a more distinct look. If you’d like to reset the flow, follow the steps below. The pumping pattern typically becomes more defined after 15–20 minutes of running. Depending on how the bag was last stored, if the flow still appears blended after this period, follow the Reset the Flow instructions to restore a sharper, separated look.
Resetting the Flow: If you'd like to restore the liquids to a mored distinct pattern:
• Turn the bag off and allow it to settle.
• Keep it resting vertically.
• Once restarted, the liquids will gradually reform into a more defined, separated pattern/

How to Wear
• The Pumping Heart Bag™ is designed to be worn vertically — this orientation keeps the internal liquid composition balanced and visually dynamic.
• When pumping horizontally for long periods, the liquid may merge and appear less distinct.
• The flow pattern typically becomes more defined again after 15–20 minutes of running.
• If the liquid still appears blended after this time, follow the “Reset the Flow” instructions to restore a sharper, separated look.
To turn on the pump:
• Flip the switch away from the USB-C port.
To check the battery level:
• Flip the switch toward the USB-C port to view the LED battery indicator.
To charge the bag:
• Plug a USB-C cable into the charging port. It takes about 40 minutes to fully charge.
• To confirm it’s charged, unplug the USB-C cable and check the battery level.
Reset the Flow:
• Turn the bag off and allow it to settle.
• Keep it resting vertically.
• Once restarted, the liquids will gradually reform into a more defined, separated pattern/
